Man Brutally Attacked After Defending Woman in Swindon

Police are hunting witnesses after a shocking assault in Swindon town centre on the evening of Tuesday, September 1. Just after 10.30pm, a man was battered by up to six youths under the subway linking the town centre and the bus station.

Hero Victim Targeted for Stepping In

The victim was trying to help a young woman who was being abused nearby. Instead, the group turned on him, kicking him repeatedly in the face and head while he was down.

Serious Injuries but No Broken Bones

The man suffered multiple bruises and facial injuries but, thankfully, no fractures. He was rushed to hospital as a precaution. Police are urgently seeking anyone who saw the attack, especially a Good Samaritan who assisted the victim afterwards.
