Top Dog Sniffs Out Burglary Suspect on Garage Roof
Just three shifts in, police dog Balto made a cracking catch in Saltdean. The two-year-old German Shepherd was called in after a break-in at Yummies Pizza on Longridge Avenue around 2am on Thursday, 9 April.
Chase Ends on Roof for Suspect
Three men bolted from the scene. Officers nabbed one hiding in bushes nearby. But it was Balto who tracked down a second suspect crouched on a garage roof. A discarded delivery bag with a safe inside was seized for forensic clues.
Two Arrested But Released Under Investigation
- 28-year-old man from Hastings
- 21-year-old man from Bexhill
Both have been arrested on suspicion of burglary but later released under investigation. Police urge anyone with information to report it online or call 101, quoting serial 178 of 09/04.
