SPFL Confirms Safety First
The Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) confirmed the cancellations after talks with clubs, Police Scotland, and emergency services. Calum Beattie, the SPFL’s chief operating officer, explained the tough call.
“We always take the decision to postpone matches very seriously. However, after consulting with the emergency services, it became clear that this was the correct course of action,” said Beattie.
The worst-hit area is the North East, where conditions are expected to be especially brutal. Fans and players alike will have to wait before the action kicks off again.
