Protest Chaos on M20 Leads to Tragic Crash

A horrific crash on the M20’s hard shoulder has claimed the life of a mother of three after her car was struck while stranded. Another Good Samaritan who stopped to help was also hit. The tragedy unfolded amid eco-protest chaos triggered by Just Stop Oil activists.

Eco-Protesters Spark Traffic Havoc on M25 and M20

Lisa Webber, a mum in her late 30s, and a GP in her 40s were victims when a BMW X5 apparently swerved across three lanes before crashing. Emergency crews faced a 40-minute delay reaching the scene in Swanley, Kent, due to large-scale congestion caused by the protest. Drivers were attempting to dodge gridlock on the M25 caused by a separate Just Stop Oil demonstration hanging 120 metres above the QEII Bridge.

Protesters Morgan Trowland, 39, and Marcus Decker, 33, both charged with public nuisance, sparked the M25 chaos by perching on the bridge for over 40 hours. Their stunt blocked the Dartford Crossing, a vital Kent-Essex route, bringing huge jams that spilled onto nearby highways.

‘Blood on Their Hands,’ Say Furious Drivers and Family

Mark, 54, from Stebbing, Essex, recovering in hospital, blasted the protesters: “They may not have intended to hurt anyone, but they’ve got blood on their hands now.” Lisa Webber’s father, Clive Kraus, named her on Twitter after the devastating loss.

“Without the protest, emergency services might have arrived in time to save the one,” said a source close to the investigation.

Police Probe Ongoing, No Arrests Over Crash Yet

Immediately following the tragic crash on Monday at 8.20 a.m., the focus turned to the ripple effects of Just Stop Oil’s activities. Former Met detective Mick Neville commented: “They may not have directly caused the M20 accident, but without their reckless demonstration, the victims wouldn’t have been there.”

Police have yet to make any arrests in connection with the collision as investigations continue. Just Stop Oil declined to comment last night.
