Free Bike Marking Event in Canterbury – Don’t Get Stolen!

Kent Police invites all cyclists to a free bike marking event on Saturday 13 January 2024. Whether you pedalled home a new bike for Christmas or snapped up a New Year’s resolution ride, this is your chance to protect it from thieves.

Get Your Bike Security Marked

Sergeant Lee Thompson from Canterbury Community Safety Unit explained: “This is a free event, and as Canterbury attracts plenty of cyclists, we want everyone to get their bikes security-marked. It helps make bikes less appealing to thieves and easier to return if stolen.”

Where and When

  • Date: Saturday 13 January 2024
  • Time: 10am to 4pm
  • Location: Rose Lane, Canterbury, near Marlowe Arcade

Stay One Step Ahead of Thieves

Security marking means your bike has a unique ID that thieves can’t easily erase, making it harder to flog and simpler for police to track down and return. Want more tips to avoid bike theft? Visit Kent Police’s bike safety advice page.

Don’t miss out – bring your bike on 13 January and lock it down for good!
