Tragic Crash in Mapledurham: Man Dies After Car Rolls Over
Thames Valley Police are hunting witnesses after a deadly single-vehicle crash in Mapledurham late last night.
Passenger Ejected as Mitsubishi Shogun Rolls
At around 11:50pm on August 22, a silver Mitsubishi Shogun lost control on Pond Lane and flipped onto its side. A 28-year-old local man, who was a passenger, was thrown from the vehicle. Despite emergency crews rushing to the scene, the man died instantly.
Driver Survives with Minor Injuries
The driver escaped with minor injuries and was treated at Royal Berkshire Hospital before being discharged. The victim’s family have been informed and are receiving support from a specially-trained family liaison officer.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
“We are working to establish the full circumstances surrounding this tragedy,” said Detective Constable Katy Kent from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit. “If you were in the area around the time of the crash, or saw the Mitsubishi Shogun beforehand, please come forward. Any information could be crucial.”
