Armed Police and Helicopter Hunt Gunman in Bexleyheath
Armed police and a police helicopter launched a dramatic search for a man reportedly carrying a gun in Bexleyheath on Sunday afternoon.
High Alert in Long Lane and Russell Park
The urgent operation kicked off around 2pm in the Long Lane and Russell Park areas. Officers swarmed the streets, backed by aerial support, in a bid to track down the suspected gunman.
Search Ends Without Incident
Despite the intense manhunt, police found no sign of anyone armed. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson confirmed the search was called off after thorough checks turned up nothing.
“Searches had been carried out but nothing had been found and the officers were stood down,” the spokesperson said.
The swift response highlights ongoing police vigilance, but thankfully this alarm ended without danger to the public.
