A huge fire tore through the west car park at Boomtown Fair, Matterley Bowl near Winchester, Hampshire, gutted around 60 vehicles. Thick black smoke billowed over the site, sparking alarm among festival-goers and staff.
Explosions and Selfies Amid Chaos
Amid the chaos, faint explosions could be heard as car park and security staff nonchalantly snapped selfies while waiting for emergency services. Six fire engines rushed to the scene alongside police and ambulances, quickly cordoning off a large section of the car park.
Firefighters Battle Blaze and Portable Lighting Inferno
Fire crews battled the flames which not only consumed cars but also set portable lighting equipment ablaze. The aftermath left a smouldering wasteland, causing major disruption at the festival.
