Police Hunt Bus Stop Sex Attacker in Walthamstow

Detectives have issued an urgent appeal to find a man wanted over a shocking sex assault at Walthamstow Bus Station.

Victim Lured to Bus Station After Meeting Online

The victim, a 19-year-old woman, arranged to meet the suspect — someone she had met online — on Sunday, 12 November at 8.30pm. Both brought friends, who soon left separately.

Assault in Nearby Park After Meeting

After the friends left, the suspect grabbed the woman’s arm and dragged her into a nearby park. There, he forced her to sit on a bench by the playground before sexually assaulting her. The terrified victim told him to stop and fled back towards the bus station. The suspect briefly followed but then returned to the park.

The victim later received threatening messages from the man warning he was sending a friend after her.

Police Urge Public to Help Identify Suspect

Detective Constable Matthew Cron said: “We continue to actively search for this suspect and hope that someone may recognise him. If you know who this male is, please contact police as soon as possible.”

Anyone who recognises the man is asked to call police on 101, quoting CAD 7666/12NOV17, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
