Police Hunt Man Over Brutal Assault on Westgate Shop Worker

Kent Police have slammed the brakes on an assault investigation in Westgate-on-Sea. They’ve released a CCTV image of a man they want to question about an attack on a shop worker on Station Road.
The incident took place at around 6:10 PM on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. Police rushed to the scene after reports of a violent assault inside a local shop. The victim was taken to hospital but is not thought to be seriously hurt.
Investigation Kicks Into High Gear
The probe is still ongoing, with officers urging the public to help identify the man caught on camera. A Kent Police spokesperson said:
“We are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying the man in the CCTV image. He may have information that could help us with our investigation into this assault.”

The attack has left locals on edge. Emily Carter, a resident, said:
“It’s alarming to hear something like this happened to a shop worker. We hope the person responsible is found quickly.”
Police insist they’re pulling out all stops to catch the culprit and restore safety to the area. They urge anyone in Station Road around the time of the assault to come forward with any info – no matter how small.
