BMW Fleeing Police Crashes Twice in High-Speed Chase Through Maidstone

Chaos on Royal Engineers’ Road

At 5.50pm on Saturday 3 October 2020, a black BMW 520 refused to stop for cops in Royal Engineers’ Road, sparking a wild police pursuit.

The driver allegedly blew through a red light, smashing into two other cars before racing towards Aylesford at breakneck speed.

The drama continued when the BMW swerved off the road at the junction with Lock Lane, crashing into a sign and fence.

The occupants abandoned the wreck and fled on foot before officers arrived.

Suspects Arrested, Investigation Ongoing

  • Two Maidstone men, aged 21 and 22, were arrested but released pending further inquiries.
  • A third 21-year-old Maidstone man was interviewed under caution and remains under investigation.

Investigating officer PC Lucy Edworthy urged: “We want to hear from anyone who saw what happened, especially two pedestrians near the Forstal Road collision. If you’ve got dashcam footage, please check it and get in touch.”
