£10,000 Reward to Find Missing Family and Newborn

Police are desperate to locate Constance Marten, 35, Mark Gordon, 48, and their newborn baby. Officers working round the clock are urging the public to come forward with any information. A whopping £10,000 reward is now on offer for tips that lead to their safe return.

Investigation Update: Last Seen Near Harwich Port

Detective Superintendent Lewis Basford, leading the search, said: “We remain deeply worried about this family. It doesn’t matter why you didn’t speak to us earlier — what matters now is doing the right thing for the vulnerable newborn.”

Here’s what police know so far:

  • The family were last officially spotted just outside Harwich port after being dropped off by taxi at 04:56 on Sunday, 8 January.
  • Earlier, on Thursday evening, they were caught on camera on the hard shoulder of the M61 near Farnworth, Bolton, carrying a blue two-man tent, sleeping bags, and pillows bought from Argos.
  • Most of their belongings are believed to have been destroyed in a car.
  • On Saturday morning, a public sighting placed them in Harwich around 9am.
  • Between 10:30am and 12:30pm the same day, CCTV confirmed their presence near East Ham Station.
  • On Saturday evening, Mark shopped in Argos on Whitechapel Road, buying camping gear by cash, sparking fears the family have been rough camping in freezing temperatures.
  • They were seen walking the Whitechapel area, failing to get taxis, then moving on to Brick Lane where they dumped several items, including a pushchair.
  • Later, they took taxis travelling from Haringey to Newhaven port, where they vanished.

Public Urged to Help Find Missing Family

The police fear for the baby’s safety and insist anyone with information, no matter how small, should come forward immediately. The £10,000 reward could be the incentive that breaks the case.

Keep your eyes peeled and report anything unusual around Harwich, Whitechapel, or Newhaven to your local police station or call the hotline now.
