Quad Bike Crash at Gillingham Dam Leaves Man Seriously Injured

Serious Collision Shuts Roads in Gillingham

Police rushed to Gillingham Dam just after 4.15pm following reports of a crash between a black SMC quad bike and a grey Peugeot 2008.

Emergency services, including an air ambulance, raced to the scene. The quad bike rider, a man in his 60s, sustained serious injuries. He was rushed to James Paget Hospital, where he remains under treatment.

No Injuries for Peugeot Driver

The driver of the Peugeot, a woman in her 40s, escaped unharmed. The crash caused road closures on Loddon Road, The Street, Bridge Street, and Gillingham Dam, frustrating local drivers until reopening just before 6.30pm.

Police Seek Witnesses

Officers are appealing for anyone who saw the collision or the driving of either vehicle beforehand to come forward. If you have information, call 101 or email PC Andrew Lincoln at the Wymondham Roads and Armed Policing Team.
