Tragic Death of Four-Year-Old in Milton Keynes Dog Attack
Thames Valley Police are investigating after a four-year-old girl was fatally attacked by a dog in Milton Keynes. The horrific incident happened just after 5pm on January 31st in the back garden of a property in Broadlands, Netherfield.
Heartbreaking Scene in Broadlands Garden
Officers rushed to the property following reports of the dog attack. Sadly, the young girl was confirmed dead at the scene. Formal identification has yet to take place. Thames Valley Police are supporting the devastated family with specially trained officers during this tragic time.
Police Appeal for Information — Dog Destroyed at Scene
Superintendent Marc Tarbit, Local Policing Area Commander for Milton Keynes, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the girl who has died in this extremely tragic incident. Our officers remain at the scene, which has shocked the whole city.”
He added: “The investigation is ongoing and progressing quickly. If anyone has information, please contact us quoting reference 1546 (31/1). The dog, believed to be the family pet, was destroyed last night by armed officers. Work is continuing to establish the breed.”
The Superintendent urged the public to avoid speculation, saying, “It is distressing for the family who ask for privacy at this difficult time. We will update when appropriate.”
