Two Men Arrested After Handgun Found in Dramatic Plumstead Chase
Police swooped on Wrottesley Road, Plumstead, after spotting a suspicious vehicle. At around 4:41 PM, officers tried to stop the car but the driver and passengers bolted, ditching a bag as they fled on foot.

The suspects didn’t get far. Officers chased them down and arrested two men. One was even tasered during the operation. The abandoned bag contained a handgun, which police promptly seized.
Met Police Confirm Ongoing Investigation
“Officers on patrol near Wrottesley Road, SE18, attempted to stop a vehicle at around 16:41hrs on Wednesday, January 22. The occupants decamped and discarded a bag containing a handgun. Two suspects were swiftly detained and arrested. One man was tasered during the incident. Enquiries remain ongoing,” said a Metropolitan Police spokesperson.
