Hook Housing Estate Sealed Off After Body Found in Bushes
Police have locked down a housing estate in Hook following a serious incident. The estate has been cordoned off since the early hours, residents claim.
Estate and Surrounding Roads Locked Down
Officers have sealed off surrounding roads with tape, guarding every entry and exit. Residents are being signed in and out on one key road near Bowfield and Bartley Business Park—close to Virgin Media’s HQ.
Crime Scene Covered, Investigation Underway
A large white screen now hides a wooded area where scenes of crime officers in paper suits comb for evidence. The road is lined with police vehicles, but officers remain tight-lipped, only confirming a “serious incident” is being investigated.
Police tweeted: “We’re dealing with an incident in #Hook, and the B3349 Griffin Way South is completely closed. Please avoid. Thank you for your patience.”
Body Discovered, Investigation Ongoing
A Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police spokesperson confirmed: “A body has been found in bushes. The death is being treated as unexplained, and an investigation has been launched.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact Hampshire Police on 101.
Despite the lockdown, residents praised officers for allowing their Christmas party to go ahead at the local community centre.
