Human remains have been found in a Lewisham garden just yards from a children’s playground, sparking a major police probe.

Met Police were called to Church Grove, SE13, at 2.08pm on Saturday, April 12, after reports of bones unearthed in a local garden. The grim find has rattled nearby residents worried about safety in the area.

“On Saturday, 12 April police were called at 2.08pm to Church Grove, SE13, following reports that human remains had been unearthed in a garden. There have been no arrests at this stage and officers are working to establish an identity, although the remains are thought to be non-recent,” a Met Police spokesperson said.
