Jewellery and Priceless Cutlery Snatched in Brazen Wittersham Burglary
Thieves Strike While Victim Relaxed in Garden
A daring burglary rocked the quiet Poplar Road area of Wittersham last Saturday afternoon. Between 4pm and 5.30pm on April 22, thieves struck while the homeowner was in the garden, making off with valuable loot.
Stolen Treasure Includes Precious Jewels and Historic Cutlery
The burglars didn’t just take cash from a purse. They also stole a stunning diamond and ruby brooch, a vintage pocket watch in a brown leather case, plus a gold-plated wristwatch. But the real prize was a rare set of cutlery marked with HM King insignia.
The stolen cutlery collection boasts dinner forks, tablespoons, a cake slice, dessert spoons, knives, a trefid spoon, and six cake knives and forks – all highly collectible and distinguishable by their royal markings.
