Knife-Wielding Thief Fails to Rob Cliftonville Shop

Attempted Robbery Stopped in Its Tracks

A suspected robber struck at a Cliftonville shop on Northdown Road near Northumberland Avenue around 9.25pm on Monday, 10 October 2022. He demanded money from the till but hit a brick wall.

Staff Stand Their Ground

The shop assistant refused to hand over cash and quickly booted the suspect out, foiling the robbery attempt.

Suspect Description

  • Mixed ethnicity, aged 24-25
  • About 5ft 4in tall, average build
  • Wearing black jacket with hood up, black jeans, black gloves
  • Partial face covering and believed to be carrying a knife
