Man Arrested Over Shocking Murder of 88-Year-Old in Surrey
A 41-year-old man from Lingfield was arrested today (April 30) on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody as police probe the death of 88-year-old Dennis Kellond, found with fatal head injuries at a Bletchingley Road home just before 11am on Monday, April 27.
Tragic Death Following Head Injury
The post mortem confirmed Mr Kellond died from a severe head injury. Police have launched a full-scale investigation, conducting house-to-house inquiries, extensive local searches, and forensic analysis to uncover exactly what happened.

East Surrey Chief Inspector Alan Sproston said: “This arrest should reassure the local community that we’re doing everything we can to bring those responsible for this horrendous crime to justice.”
He added: “Our thoughts are with Mr Kellond’s family, who are being supported by specialist officers.”

Officers are appealing for anyone who was near the A25/Bletchingley Road stretch between Ivy Mill Lane and Knights Way in Godstone on Saturday, April 25, between 10am and 3pm to report anything suspicious immediately.
