£10,000 Fine After Massive New Year’s Eve Rave at Abandoned Church

Police have slapped a hefty £10,000 fine on a man who admitted organising a massive, unlicensed music bash at a disused church in East Horndon on New Year’s Eve. Hundreds packed into All Saints Church, blatantly ignoring the Government’s COVID-19 rules.

Man Arrested – But No Burglary Charges

The 32-year-old man from Wickford was nabbed at Heathrow Airport on Tuesday (February 2) on suspicion of burglary. However, after questioning, he admitted his role as an event organiser. While burglary charges were dropped, the hefty £10,000 fine for the illegal rave remains.

Investigation Ramps Up

Police are still hunting others involved. Four more people have been arrested linked to the party but were released under investigation as enquiries continue. The crackdown on rule-breakers at illegal events is far from over.
