Murder probe launched after man found with fatal injuries in Swansea
Man, 27, dies in brutal attack on Cwm Road
South Wales Police have opened a murder investigation following the death of a 27-year-old man in Swansea. The victim, from the Waun Wen area, was discovered with severe injuries on Cwm Road, Hafod, just after midday on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.
Despite desperate efforts to save him, the man tragically died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
Four men arrested in connection with deadly assault
Police have taken four men into custody. The suspects are from various Swansea neighbourhoods:
- 31-year-old man from Waun Wen
- 49-year-old man from Gendros
- 37-year-old man from Strand
- 39-year-old man from Morriston
All four remain held as inquiries continue.
Road closure and urgent appeal for witnesses
Cwm Road is currently closed while investigators comb the scene. Detective Superintendent Paul Raikes, who is leading the case, urged residents and commuters to come forward.
“We are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who may have dashcam footage from New Cut Road between 11:50 am and 12:00 pm on Wednesday,” he said.
