Steven Novak’s Halloween setup has turned his home into a full-on horror show—so gruesome that neighbours have called the cops multiple times. His front yard looks straight out of a slasher flick, with fake blood splattered everywhere and mangled dummies staged to look like murder victims.
Over 20 Gallons of Fake Blood—and Counting
Novak admits he’s dumped over 20 gallons of fake blood on the scene but hasn’t revealed his secret sauce. “Neighbours told me cop cars were parked outside most of the day,” he said. “I was only home twice to meet the officers. They said they thought it was cool, but had to check out complaints from the sergeant.”
“They were in formation at the door. When I opened it, they asked if it was all mine. I said, ‘You mean the blood and the bodies? Yeah, that’s me,” Novak recalled.
Halloween Like You’ve Never Seen Before
For Novak, going big is the norm. “I’ve always pulled pranks like flying ghosts or giant snowmen of myself. This year, I had to go hyperreal. No cheap fog or lights—just pure nightmare fuel for anyone walking by in the dark.”
With rainy weather constantly washing away the blood, Novak admits he’s been topping up the gore almost every day. “The plan in my head was even crazier, so maybe next year I’ll push the envelope even further,” he teased.
Spooky Times Ahead for Trick or Treaters
While Novak’s display is turning heads, many areas are clamping down on Halloween celebrations this year. Where festivities do go ahead, trick or treaters are being urged to stay safe and watch their backs—just in case Steven Novak’s neighbours aren’t the only ones petrified.
