Cliftonville Hit with 48-Hour Anti-Social Behaviour Ban
A tough new 48-hour order slams down on Cliftonville from 6pm Friday, 11 February 2022. Police mean business.
Restricted Areas and Crackdown
The ban targets hotspots including Northdown Road, Norfolk Road, and Athelstan Road. Anyone caught causing trouble — or likely to spark alarm or distress — can be told by police or PCSOs to clear off and stay away or face arrest.
Why the Clampdown?
Kent Police have had enough. Over the past week, they’ve received reports of groups of youths blocking roads with obstacles, wrecking property, and stirring up chaos.
Inspector Ian Swallow of the Thanet Community Safety Unit warned: “The actions of a small minority behaving irresponsibly can seriously affect the community. Officers will take action against anyone causing issues in Cliftonville this weekend.”
“We urge residents to report anti-social behaviour by calling 101, dial 999 if a crime is in progress, or use our website so we can respond swiftly.”
Residents are on high alert as police hunt troublemakers to keep Cliftonville safe.
