Police Crackdown in Cliftonville: 48-Hour ASB Ban Kicks In
Kent Police have slapped a 48-hour ban on anti-social behaviour starting 6pm Friday, 11 February 2022. The crackdown targets trouble hotspots in Cliftonville, including Northdown Road, Norfolk Road, and Athelstan Road.
Zero Tolerance for Troublemakers
Anyone caught acting anti-socially or likely to cause alarm or distress will be told to leave and warned not to return — or face arrest. Police and PCSOs have full powers to move on offenders immediately.
Why the Clampdown?
Recent reports reveal groups of youths causing chaos by blocking roads, damaging property, and stirring disorder across the area. Local cops say the behaviour of a reckless few is hitting the whole community hard.
Inspector Ian Swallow, Thanet Community Safety Unit: “The actions of a small minority behaving irresponsibly are having a big impact. Our officers will take action against anyone causing issues in Cliftonville this weekend. We urge residents to report anti-social behaviour by calling 101—or 999 if a crime is underway—or via our website so we can respond fast.”
