Early Morning Raids Crack Down on County Lines Drug Network

At the crack of dawn on Thursday, 29 October, the Violent Crime Taskforce launched a blitz on county lines drug supply, serving seven warrants across London. Backed by the South Area BCU, Territorial Support Group, and Kent Police, officers targeted a ruthless gang exploiting young couriers to move drugs out of the capital.

High-Risk Offenders Nabbed with £20,000 Cash and Knives Seized

The operation, stemming from a months-long probe that began in May, ended with seven arrests. All suspects are flagged as high harm offenders with violent backgrounds. Police seized around £20,000 in cash, Class A and B drugs, and a knife during a search in South Norwood.

Detective Sounds Warning Over Gang Violence and Drug Crime

“There is undoubtedly a link between drugs and violence and this investigation proves that. Those arrested this morning are gang members or linked to gangs — incredibly dangerous and a blight on our communities,” said Detective Constable Ray Sekalongo.

“We’re working with police forces and partners to tear down these networks. Tackling violence remains our top priority.”

  • 19-year-old man, Croydon – suspected possession of Class A drugs with intent and criminal property
  • 21-year-old woman, Chatham, Kent – suspected of supplying Class A drugs
  • 40-year-old man, Chatham, Kent – suspected of supplying Class A drugs

All remain in custody as the investigation intensifies.
