A man in his twenties was brutally assaulted near Avebury Avenue in the early hours of Friday, August 19, 2022. Kent Police were called at 12:55 a.m., with ambulance crews rushed to the scene.
Five Arrested as Murder Probe Intensifies
Shortly after the attack, a teenage suspect was arrested but later released without charge. The investigation ramped up on Sunday, August 21, when five more people were arrested. They remain in custody as the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate digs deeper.
- A 17-year-old boy from Coulsdon
- A 15-year-old girl from Tonbridge
- Two 16-year-old boys from Tonbridge
- A 47-year-old woman from Coulsdon, arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender
Detective Inspector Pleads for Witnesses
"We thank those who have come forward so far and continue to urge anyone with information to get in touch," said Detective Inspector Lee Neiles. "It is critical we speak with anyone who heard or saw anything suspicious around midnight."
The attack happened near Tonbridge Park and several residential homes. Police are desperate for more leads.
