Man Cracked Jaw in Brutal Fight After MMA Event at MECA, Swindon
A violent punch-up broke out just before 11pm on Saturday, March 5, after an MMA event at MECA, Regent Circus.
Young Man Left with Fractured Jaw and Serious Injuries
A man in his 20s from Hampshire suffered a fractured jaw, plus injuries to his head and eye socket. He needed hospital treatment following the attack.
Arrest Made but Investigation Ongoing
A suspect, also a man in his 20s, has been arrested on suspicion of section 18 GBH (Grievous Bodily Harm). He has since been released under investigation while police continue their enquiries.
Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
“This was a nasty incident which left the victim with several injuries,” said Det Con Helen Bott of Swindon CID. “We are appealing to anyone who witnessed the assault or has mobile phone footage of the altercation inside the arena around 10:50pm.”
