Teen Arrested in Totton After Dramatic ASDA Chase

On Thursday 15 October at around 3.37pm, two PCSOs on patrol in Totton spotted a teenage boy acting suspiciously near Asda on Maynard Road. Security staff had flagged the 17-year-old as a potential suspect. When approached, he bolted.
Public Steps In to Help Catch Suspect
The youth was tackled and held by a member of the public alongside the PCSOs until full police backup arrived. A search uncovered what officers believe to be a class A drug.
Southampton Teen Arrested but Later Released
The 17-year-old from Southampton was arrested for possession with intent to supply a Class A drug and obstructing a police officer. He has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
