PCSOs Nab Suspected Stolen Bike in Maidstone Town Centre
Two quick-thinking police community support officers (PCSOs) in Maidstone have recovered a bike believed to be stolen. The dramatic stop happened at 11:15am on Tuesday 14 August 2018 in Jubilee Square.
22-Year-Old Held Over Bike Theft
The PCSOs spotted a man riding the suspicious bike and stopped him for questioning. They immediately suspected the cycle was stolen. A local police officer quickly arrived, arrested the 22-year-old local man on suspicion of theft, and later released him pending further investigation.
Police Appeal to Find the Bike’s Owner
“We suspect the cycle to be stolen and would be keen to hear from anybody who believes it is theirs,” said Inspector Giacomino Vail of Maidstone Community Safety Unit.
“Anyone who thinks it is their bike in the photograph should call the appeal line on 01622 604100 quoting reference YY/2198/18.”
