PCSOs Nab Suspected Bike Thief in Maidstone Town Centre

Bike Snatched in Broad Daylight

Two sharp-eyed police community support officers (PCSOs) on patrol in Maidstone scored a win on Tuesday morning. At around 11:15am on August 14, they spotted a man riding a suspected stolen bicycle through Jubilee Square.

Local Man Arrested Over Stolen Cycle

The 22-year-old local was stopped for questioning. Officers quickly suspected the bike wasn’t his. A nearby police officer arrived and arrested the man on suspicion of theft. He’s since been released but remains under investigation.

Police Appeal to Owners: Claim Your Ride

Inspector Giacomino Vail of Maidstone Community Safety Unit said: “We suspect the cycle to be stolen and would be keen to hear from anybody who believes it is theirs. Anyone who thinks it is their bike in the photograph should call the appeal line on 01622 604100 quoting reference YY/2198/18.”
