Young Woman Escapes Armed Robbery in Southend Alleyway
A woman in her 20s had a terrifying brush with two masked and armed men while walking through an alley between the Odeon and New Look shops in Southend.
Armed Thugs Demand Cash – But Victim Gets Away Unharmed
The frightening incident happened on Friday 21 April, between 8.55pm and 9.15pm. The pair threatened the woman, demanding money. Thankfully, she managed to flee without handing over any belongings. She wasn’t hurt, though her jacket was damaged during the encounter.
Police Hunt White Males in Black and Grey Hoodies
Both suspects are described as white men. One wore a black hooded top, the other a grey one. Their faces were covered during the robbery.
Detective Inspector Nick Brunton said: “Thankfully, in this case the woman was not injured and did not hand over any items, however she is understandably shaken by the incident. We are carrying out a number of enquiries in the area this morning, including identifying CCTV opportunities and tracking down people who may have witnessed the incident.”
“We take all reports of violence in Southend incredibly seriously and we will pursue all lines of enquiry in order to identify those people involved and bring them to justice.”
