Clapham Gun Chaos: Three Injured After Moped Police Chase
A chaotic firearms incident rocked Clapham on Friday afternoon, leaving three people injured. Police are hunting suspects after a moped police chase ended in a reckless shotgun blast.
High-Speed Chase Ends in Collision and Shotgun Fire
The drama unfolded around 4:55 PM on March 1 when police tried to stop a moped carrying two men. The moped refused to halt and sped through Clapham, eventually crashing into a 27-year-old pedestrian.
As the suspects fled on foot, one dropped a shotgun which discharged on the ground. Two nearby women, aged 27 and 36, were hit by shotgun pellets but were not targeted. All victims have been discharged from hospital.
Police Under Scrutiny as Investigation Deepens
The Metropolitan Police’s Directorate of Professional Standards is investigating, and the Independent Office for Police Conduct has been notified due to the pursuit connection.
Detective Chief Inspector Gemma Alger is leading the inquiry, urging anyone with dashcam footage from the chase to come forward.

Crime scenes on St Alphonsus Road remain sealed off as forensic teams search the gardens where suspects escaped.
