A victim was found seriously injured and collapsed in a Ryde alleyway in the early hours of Sunday morning, sparking a frantic police investigation.
Attack in George Street and Star Street Alley
Emergency services rushed to the scene near George Street and Star Street shortly after midnight. Paramedics treated the victim, who had suffered serious injuries following an assault.
Police Chase Two Men Seen Fleeing the Scene
Officers revealed a man was attacked after being seen heading into the alleyway with another individual. The suspects were spotted running off in opposite directions just before police arrived. The victim had been drinking prior to the attack, sources say.
Weapon Recovered, Crime Scene Under Lockdown
Police have sealed off part of Ryde and remain on guard as specialist officers examine a weapon found at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
