Police Chase on A12 Ends in Smash with Marked Patrol Car
A high-speed police pursuit on the A12 in Romford ended abruptly in a collision involving a marked police vehicle and the chased car on Tuesday evening, August 27, 2024.
The drama unfolded at around 6.50pm as officers were actively pursuing the suspects.
Three Men Arrested After Crash
Emergency crews were quick to arrive at the scene. Three males from the pursued car were rushed to hospital by ambulance. All three have since been arrested in connection with the incident.
The Met police have yet to reveal what offences triggered the chase.
Officers Escape Injury, Suspects’ Conditions Unclear
Miraculously, no officers required hospital treatment following the crash. The arrested men’s conditions have not been officially confirmed, though their injuries appear to be non-life-threatening.

The Metropolitan Police Service has notified the Directorate of Professional Standards. The authority will review the pursuit and collision, as is standard for incidents involving police vehicles.
The A12, a key route in the area, suffered major traffic delays while emergency services worked on scene. It has since reopened, with traffic returning to normal.
