Sandown Man Arrested Over Firearm Scare Released but Still Under Investigation
Armed Police Called to Sandown Street
Armed officers swooped on Leed Street in Sandown, Isle of Wight, last Thursday evening after worried residents reported a man carrying a weapon.
Air Rifle Seized
Police searched the area and found an air rifle. A 59-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
Suspect Released But Probe Continues
Hampshire Constabulary confirmed the man has now been released from custody but remains under investigation as police continue their enquiries.
