Six Nabbed in Portsmouth After Bloody Siege – Police Call It a ‘Minor Incident’
Six people have been arrested following a dramatic two-day police siege on a Portsmouth home – but officers insist it’s just a “minor” scuffle.
Bloody Raid on Fratton House
Police sealed off a property at the corner of Shakespeare Road and St Mary’s Road in Fratton after reports of a ‘minor assault. But eyewitnesses tell a different story. One neighbour said police smashed down the bloody front door on the evening of Thursday 29th June to storm the house.
Another witness spotted a man fleeing the scene in his underpants moments before police swarmed the property.
Six Arrested on Serious Charges
Initially, two arrests were made on the evening of the incident, but the number has since risen to six. The suspects, all from Portsmouth, face serious allegations:
- Two women, aged 35 and 38, arrested for false imprisonment and grievous bodily harm with intent.
- A 49-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman, both arrested on suspicion of false imprisonment and attempted grievous bodily harm.
- A 36-year-old man charged with false imprisonment, grievous bodily harm with intent, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Police Downplay the Drama
Despite the violent scenes and multiple arrests, police maintain the incident was “minor”. Officers continued to guard the property as detectives and forensic teams conducted an exhaustive investigation over two days.
The case is ongoing, with inquiries continuing into the full details of what went down that evening in Fratton.
