Nursery Shut Down After Ofsted Visit

Following the boy’s death, Ofsted launched an inspection and closed the nursery along with several linked premises. The investigation is ongoing amid serious questions about the care provided.

Six Women Arrested Over Baby’s Death

  • On 16 December, three women aged 20, 23, and 50 were arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter. They have since been released on bail with strict conditions.
  • On 4 January 2023, a further three women aged 51, 53, and 37 were arrested. Two face corporate manslaughter charges, while one is suspected of gross negligence manslaughter.

Family Supported as Investigations Continue

The baby’s family is receiving help from specially trained officers. A post-mortem has been carried out, with further tests underway to determine the exact cause of death.
