Luxury Cruise Turns Deadly After Southampton Departure

Male Suspect Arrested in Murder Probe
Police launched a murder investigation immediately. They swooped on Southampton Docks early Sunday, arresting a 57-year-old man from Exeter on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody as officers dig deeper into the deadly clash.
Ship Forced to Return to Port Amid Tragedy
The fatal incident occurred around 8.30pm, shortly after departure. The vessel was forced to turn back to Southampton where police boarded to launch their enquiries. The victim’s family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
Police Urge Passengers to Come Forward
Detective Chief Inspector Matt Gillooly, leading the investigation, said: “This appears to be an isolated incident on board, and we thank the crew for their cooperation. If anyone on the ship witnessed anything or has information that could assist, please contact Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary quoting reference 44250193676.”
Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with video footage of the incident to step forward.
