The Metropolitan Police confirmed the raids are part of a wider crackdown targeting illegal weapons across London. A spokesperson said, “Officers from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, working with internal partners, are conducting searches at locations in the Royal Borough of Greenwich today, Wednesday, 21 December.”
They stressed the operation is planned and ongoing, aimed squarely at ridding the capital of dangerous arms. The action is expected to continue until Thursday, December 22.
