Tony Blair lashes out at the Left for ignoring a spike in antisemitic violence. He blames a dangerous “unholy alliance” between progressive activists and hardline Islamists for a wave of attacks targeting the Jewish community.
Blair Slams Left’s Soft Touch After Ambulance Arson
Blair’s furious warning came after a shocking arson in Golders Green, North London, where four Jewish ambulances were set on fire. Gas canisters inside exploded, causing chaos and forcing evacuations.
In a scathing post for The Free Press, Blair said many on the progressive Left oppose antisemitism—until it comes to confronting extremists who target Jews over Israel.
“The problem is that, under pressure from party activists and parts of the Muslim community, many progressive politicians who do sincerely reject anti-Semitism are not making these arguments,” Blair wrote.
He warned that ignoring this “literally ‘unholy alliance’” only lets antisemitism grow. Blair fears more attacks are coming unless the toxic ideology is stamped out.
Blair Slams Hypocrites on Gaza Conflict
Blair also took aim at those who loudly condemn Israel’s actions in Gaza but stay silent on Hamas’s brutal terror attack in October that sparked the fighting.
Backing Donald Trump’s peace plan, Blair called it the “best” and “only hope” to bring peace to Gaza. He supports pushing Hamas aside to let a less extreme leadership take charge.
“For decades, Gaza’s governance has been characterised by extremism, corruption, ineffective institutions and the complete absence of a route to prosperity,” Blair wrote, highlighting the area’s potential thanks to its Mediterranean coast and young population.
Two Arrested Over Golders Green Ambulance Arson
Police have arrested two British men, aged 47 and 45, on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life over the ambulance fires. Both were later released on bail until April.
Scotland Yard is probing possible links to an Islamist group reportedly tied to Iran.
Hatzola—a volunteer-run emergency service founded in 1979—provides free medical care to north London’s Jewish community. The daring attack has left the community shaken and ramped up calls for action against rising antisemitic hate.
