Double Tragedy on Thames Valley Roads and Rails
Thames Valley Police are probing a grim double fatality that shocked the Tidmarsh and Pangbourne areas yesterday. Two lives were lost in linked incidents just minutes apart — a 56-year-old woman and an 18-year-old man.
Woman Found Dead in Lexus After Stabbing
At 5:45pm, officers rushed to the A340 Tidmarsh Road near Flower’s Hill following reports of a road traffic collision involving a Lexus. Inside the vehicle, they found the woman had suffered a fatal stab wound. Despite urgent medical efforts, she died at the scene.
Young Man Found Dead on Nearby Railway Track
Half an hour later, at 6:25pm, police were called to a railway track near Pangbourne. There, the body of an 18-year-old man was discovered. The victims remain unnamed, but their families have been informed and are receiving specialist support.
Police Confirm No Wider Threat
Detective Superintendent Kevin Brown, Head of Major Crime Unit, said: “We are not currently looking for anyone else in connection with either death. We are treating the two deaths as linked, keeping an open mind about the circumstances. There is no wider threat to the public.”
