Two Arrested After Armed Robbery Shakes North Belfast Street
Police acted fast after a terrifying firearms incident rocked the North Queen Street area of north Belfast on the afternoon of Saturday, September 16. Two men are now behind bars following the dramatic stand-off.
Armed Thugs Target Woman in Home Invasion
Detective Sergeant Kennedy revealed the trouble began just before 4pm. Two men arrived at a local house, and one was allegedly carrying a suspected firearm. Inside, a woman was shocked when the armed man shoved his way in, pointed the weapon at her, and demanded cash.
The harrowing robbery didn’t stop there. When someone outside challenged the suspects, the gunman threatened another man while insisting on getting money. The duo then fled in a white camper van, racing along North Queen Street to the Limestone Road junction.
Police Chase Ends with Two Arrests
Belfast officers quickly sprang into action, intercepting the white van on University Street. Two men, aged 36 and 24, were arrested on suspicion of threats to kill, common assault, and possession of a firearm or imitation firearm with intent to cause fear.
Both suspects remain in custody as police dig deeper into the case.
