Thieves Puncture Tyre and Swipe Jewels in Brighton Heist
Brazen Daylight Crime on Kensington Street
Brighton police are hunting crooks after a daring theft this January 17 at around 1:30 pm on Kensington Street. Victim’s silver Vauxhall Insignia was targeted after a visit to a Gloucester Road venue.
Two suspects worked the scam. A male plotted the takedown with a nail or sharp device to puncture the car’s tyre. Meanwhile, a female distracted the victim, clearing the way for the heist.
Bag of Bling and Cash Snatched
The thieves made off with a black bag packed with jewellery, diamonds, gold, and a hefty stash of cash from inside the vehicle. The incident unfolded during a bustling lunchtime in the busy North Laine area.
Police Appeal for Help and CCTV Footage
Chief Inspector Ed Ripley urged the public to come forward: “We understand the victim’s distress and are keen to hear from anyone who spotted suspicious behaviour or has CCTV, doorbell, dashcam, or mobile footage from the area at the time.”
Brighton officers have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak with in connection to the theft. Anyone with information is asked to contact Sussex Police quoting serial 677 of 17/01.
