Officer Supporting G7 Policing Tests Positive for COVID-19

In the early hours of June 11, Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed that an officer stationed on the ferry for G7 summit duties has tested positive for COVID-19 via a lateral flow test.

Close Contacts Now Self-Isolating

Following the positive result, the officer and 11 colleagues who have been in close contact are self-isolating at a designated location. In total, 12 officers are currently off-duty and isolating to prevent any potential virus spread.

Next Steps: PCR Testing and Health Guidance

Those who tested positive will now undergo PCR testing for confirmation. The police are following the latest advice from Public Health England to manage the situation carefully during the critical G7 policing operation.
