Fire crews were scrambled just before 8pm to tackle a fierce electrical fire in a high-rise flat on Graham Street, Southampton. The blaze erupted in an electrical consumer unit, sparking chaos in the block.
Firefighters Battle Tough Blaze
Teams from St Marys, Hightown, and Redbridge rushed to the scene armed with six breathing apparatus sets and three water jets. They battled the fire for over an hour before bringing it under control.
Significant Damage and Displacement
The flat suffered severe damage—20% destroyed by flames and a further 70% ruined by heat and smoke. The tenant and her family were forced out and have now been rehoused by Southampton City Council.
