Though the identity of the deceased remains unconfirmed, cops have informed the family of 65-year-old Jeremy Rickards. The missing man was last seen in North Holmes Road, Canterbury, in early June and reported missing on July 5.

“Mr Rickards’ family hadn’t heard from him for several weeks before the remains were discovered,” said DI Louise Murphy of Kent Police’s missing persons unit. “We have yet to confirm if the remains belong to him; investigations are continuing.”
