Collision Closes Key Exit
The A34 northbound exit for the A33 just north of Winchester remains shut after a serious collision. Hampshire Police’s joint roads policing unit from Whitchurch and collision investigators are still at the scene.
Rescue Crews Battle to Free Victim
Emergency teams from Eastleigh, Winchester, and Alresford rushed to the scene shortly before 2am to help a person trapped on Winchester Road (A33). Firefighters used specialist cutting gear in a desperate attempt to free those involved in the crash.
Prolonged Closure Expected
Officials warn the road closure will last at least until mid-morning due to an ongoing investigation. Police plan to issue a witness appeal later today as inquiries continue.
