Crash Chaos on Mile End Road: Four Fire Crews Rush to Rescue
Emergency services scrambled to Mile End Road just after 2.30pm on Wednesday, April 21, after a serious collision. Four fire crews, paramedics, and a Hampshire Constabulary Roads Policing officer were on the scene.
Brave Firefighters Cut Victim Free with Roof Removal
Three fire crews from Cosham and Southsea used specialist cutting and spreading gear to carry out a dramatic roof removal to extricate the injured victim. The casualty was then carefully placed on a spinal board and treated by paramedics from South Central Ambulance Service.
Road Shut as Police Aid Rescue and Clear Wreckage
The patient was rushed to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham for further treatment. Meanwhile, police blocked the road to support the extrication and to recover the write-off vehicle.
