Police are hunting a drunk driver who smashed a silver car into railings and a parking meter on Shanklin’s Hope Beach just after 1am on Monday. The driver then fled the scene on foot, leaving behind hundreds of pounds in damage.

Driver Abandons Car, Police Launch Search
The driver ditched the wrecked vehicle and ran off before police arrived. A dog walker on the scene described the aftermath as “debris everywhere.” Police have cordoned off the car park and deployed officers, including a search team near the Steamer Inn, to track down the culprit.
